Timeline:

10:05- 10:07: Introduction of weekly topic.

10:07- 10:17: Prezi Presentation **Switched on and off each week between the two of us.

10:17- 11:30: Working on their books, utilizing that weeks' principle/ finishing pages from previous weeks.

11:25- 11:35: Critique/ Discussion (on each persons’ book).

11:35- 11:45: Start thinking about how to display books for Exhibiton.

11:45- 11:55: Clean up

11:55: Dismissal

 

Metaknowledge: Layering, Text and Image, Representin', Juxtaposition, and 

 

Materiality/ Un-example: Prezi Presentation

 

Student Context/ Grade Level: Eight 9th- 10th graders

 

Materials: 20x22” paper, construction, paint, glue, glitter, magazines, etc.Exploration of materials and all types of medium in their book with the use of text and image.

 

Activities/ Procedure/ Sequencing: Everyone MUST include at least one example of that weeks principle (in some way) in their books.

 

Evaluation/ Critique/ Assessment/ Interpretation: Critique with the whole class.

 

Self-Assessment/ Reflection: FOR OURSELVES ON OUR LESSPLAN; We will be recording the students talking about their experience so far and the work that they are creating. 

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      

 

Combine various forms of media to compose a cohesive page in their book that relates to their overall topic/ content.

 

Demonstrate the use of skills and techniques they have previously learned to formulate new ideas and to progress in their work.

 

Synthisizing on the postmodern concepts of design and incorporating the concepts into their books to help them understand contemporary ideologies of art making.

 

Developing skills working with various media in order to broaden their perspectives on what is art and art making, as well as to help characterize themselves as artists.

 

Using critique as a method for them to reflect and formulate their ideas about their work and their peers’ work.

 

To develop an ability to troubleshoot when encountering mishaps while making work.
